History

In the fall of 1946, twenty members, with a vision for a Southern Baptist Church in Auburn organized the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Raymond C. Wilson became its first pastor, meeting in the I.O.O. F. Hall in downtown Auburn.

In 1962 after a fire burned their building, Pastor DWayne "Doc" Patton, led them through the rebuilding and they renamed themselves First Southern Baptist Church.

In November of 1989, the church began to build on their newly purchased property on Bell Road. The building was dedicated in March of 1991 with hundreds of people despite the rainy, snowy weather.

There have been many ups and downs throughout the life of this body but the one thing that remains true is that God remains faithful and He isn't finished with the now named Bell Road Baptist Church.
